Clave Duo – Il Viaggio del Suono

The turbulent history of Poland in the 17th and 18th century was not conducive to such a flourishing of musical culture as was the case in other European countries at that time, and in addition, this not very abundant legacy, which would have had a chance to survive to this day, was wiped out by the cataclysms of the 20th century. However, in this modest musical treasury we have not only works worthy of the respect due to monuments, but also outstanding works that arouse deep admiration. This is the case with the works of Marcin Mielczewski and Adam Jarzębski. The album titled "Il Viaggio del Suono" by the ClaveDuo band also includes a contemporary composition, "Kraków Suite for two harpsichords" by Julian Gembalski.

The composition was commissioned by Narodowy Institute of Music and Dance in Warsaw as part of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage's Composing Commissions program. The suite is dedicated to the ClaveDuo band and was premiered by them in 2022.
