Donat Zamiara – „Three pieces from the last century for double bass solo”

Donat Zamiara – double bass player born in Gniezno. He began his adventure with the double bass at the age of fifteen in the class of Przemysław Rotengruber. In 2003 he graduated with honors from I. J. Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań in the class of prof. Piotr Czerwiński. In addition, he improved his skills under the guidance of Thierry Barbe, Catalina Rotaru and Renata Ibragimov. He is a laureate of numerous international competitions, including the 4th International Double Bass Competition. S. Kusewicki. He gives concerts as a soloist, performing solo works but also accompanied by piano and orchestra. As a soloist he performed with the Orchestra of the Teatr Wielki in Poznań under the direction of maestro Gabriel Chmura. His repertoire includes both works classified as classics of double bass literature, as well as the latest music and premieres. Since 2005 he has been a soloist and group leader at Teatr Wielki im. St. Moniuszko in Poznań. Apart from his concert activities, he is also a teacher at his home university and an assistant professor at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. In addition, Donat Zamiara regularly takes part in competition committees and works as a judge of CEA auditions, as well as conducts and organizes master classes.
